That Spring Feeling

Hello Health Optimizers!

Welcome to my monthly subscription of health and lifestyle tips, recipes, and motivation to want to maintain your health. Each month will have a different focus to help you on your wellness journey.

April is the start of spring! A new season, and a fresh start. New growth, sun, longer days and a releasing of the colder months. A spring cleaning. Set some new goals and intentions. Intentions be habits, routines, hobbies. Something you want to focus on.

You will be noticing more energy and an improved mood. Along with a change in the types of foods you will want to eat. These are all parts of the seasonal changes our body goes through as the months go by. It is normal for us to want more lighter fresh fruits and vegetables.

Fresh seasonal spring vegetables are good to try in stir fries, baked, or in salads. Some good options are brussel sprouts, broccoli, lettuce, collard greens, potatoes, zucchini.

Reach for fresh fruits when craving a sweet snack in the mid morning or late evening. Fruits like grapes, kiwi, oranges, apples, banana are great options. All packed with vitamins and minerals the body needs.

Eating more fruits and vegetables in the diet can help with feeling full longer, getting enough fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Lastly, Get in the sun! Over the winter we have lost our bodies reserve of vitamin D. Which affects our mood and energy levels directly. Try going out in the sun daily. A great way to do this is a 20 minute walk. This will improve your mood, mental health, and heart health.

Get ready to enjoy what is to come!
